Course Summary

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas is a private golf course (non members welcome) located in the Nueva Andalucia area of the Costa del Sol and has played host to many major professional tournaments over the years.

The course was originally founded by D. José Banús in 1968 and was designed by golf’s most prolific and famous designers, Robert Trent Jones Snr. Trent Jones later went on to design other local courses including Los Naranjos and the famous Valderrama course.

Course Details

The Las Brisas course is very beautiful and thanks to the fantastic landscaping by Englishman Gerald Huggan, the course offers an abundance of flora and fauna which has been taken from all of the continents. There are many lovely shrubs, trees and plants that line the course including the Cape Chestnut and Spiny Acacias from Africa, Green Ash from Mexico and also Whistling Pines from Australia.

If you get to play the Las Brisas golf course while on your golf holiday, you will find that it is very challenging (aren’t they all?) with a mixture of subtle dog-legs and well protected greens, the majority of which are in an elevated position.

The course hosted the World Cup of Golf in 1973 and was won by one of the greatest names in golf, Jack Nicklaus. The current course record is 65 which was shot by Johnny Miller during the same tournament.
